DJ Pettit's stuff is so great. (look on the right for the link) I want to just watch her as she works to see how she does this! Is there a sketch first? Then a background? Does she leave the area where the figure is blank or does she paint over the background? I am too much of a beginner to guess at any of this.

(Oh, and being able to copy these pictures here is a point for keeping my blog here rather than moving with Shutterfly. I would not have been able to do that over there.)
